So who can use the Lyric hearing aid?
Lyric is ideal for a mild to moderately-severe hearing loss.

Is there a catch – is it really a free assessment and trial?
No catch.  We are so confident that once fitted with Lyric you will not want to wear a conventional hearing aid.

What happens at the free Lyric assessment?
We will check your hearing loss, ear size and shape, medical conditions, and lifestyle to determine if the Lyric hearing aid is the right choice for you. About half of people with a hearing loss could wear Lyric.

Does Lyric require any surgery?
Lyric is positioned and programmed by one of our Lyric trained hearing professionals, the whole process takes about one hour.  No surgery is involved.

You will be provided with a removal tool which is safe and easy to use, we will show you how to remove at your appointment.

Can I swim with Lyric in?
Yes, you can swim with custom-made swim moulds, which we can provide for you.

How long can I keep Lyric in for?
Lyric has a long-lasting battery so can be worn for 2-4 months at a time, then simply come into the clinic and we will replace for you with the most up-to-date hearing advancements available.

What does Lyric feel like?
Once you have adjusted to Lyric you should no longer feel like there is anything in your ear. The outside is made of a soft material which is comfortable to wear. It is designed to contour to the ear canal.

Can I use headsets or earbuds with Lyric?
External headphones and external hearing protection can be used.
But do not use inserted headsets, earbuds, or earplugs, as they may dislodge Lyric.  Standard iPod® earphones may be used.

Would an MRI, X-ray, or CT scan damage Lyric or place my ear at risk?
Lyric hearing aids must be removed before you have an MRI.
Unlike an MRI, an X-ray or CT scan will not damage or dislodge Lyric because a magnet is not used. However, you should inform the physician and/or technician about the Lyric device. If an X-ray or CT scan of the ear or head is needed, the device may need to be removed. Let your physician know that you are wearing Lyric if you are having surgery or a medical procedure of any kind.

Can I fly with Lyric?
Yes, flying on a plane is perfectly safe.

Will Lyric set off a metal detector?
No, Lyric’s metal components are too small to set off metal detectors.

Can I use my mobile or home phone?
Yes, one of the benefits of Lyric’s placement is that it can be worn while talking on the phone.
